We have a number of day trail rides through the backcountry of northeast Oregon that are very convenient to reach by leaving our pasture gates. Prehaps the prettiest ride we have is the Lincton Mountain ride. This ride is about 11 miles long and has about a 1700 foot elevation change from McKuster Ranch to Lincton Mtn and back.
Scroll to below map for trail description. McKuster Ranch is located at the red flag on the map.

This ride begins by crossing Walla Walla River Road at our west pasture gate, and following Cashe Hollow Road (a very low traffic road -closed to vehicle travel Oct.31 through March 31) for 2.7 miles. At that intersection it meets Kennear Road and follows that road overlooking Crouse Creek Canyon for 3.6 miles. Along this leg you are deep in the heart of northeast Oregon backcountry, with the wind, the sky, wide open meadows, the rolling foothills of the Blue Mountains. The next intersection you arrive at is the junction with Lincton Mountain Road in a high saddle at about 3000'. At this point we take a left at this intersection and come off the mountain for a 4.6 mile ride back into the Walla Walla River Canyon and McKuster Ranch.
