SF Shaiela is a daughter of the incomparable Simeon Shai, the only Arabian horse in history to win all four halter championships in one year. Now 12 years old, Shaiela has been live bred for the first time to the spectacular Eaglefromthelight, grandson of Desperado V and great-grandson of Huckleberry Bey. Her date of coverage was May 23 and 25, 2007.
We will be breeding this same pair again in 2009.

With this breeding, we offer the opportunity to own a part of Arabian horse history--a legendary horse, a spirited, classic mare, beauty, grace, and intelligence, all in one very promising foal.

Please join us in sharing an afternoon with Shaiela at three months' pregnant, one hour from "pasture" to "portrait." Yes, these are amateur photos. No makeup, no face oil, no clippers, and no cosmetics! Just a bath and our digital camera, to prove our philosophy that there is nothing more beautiful than a perfect, healthy horse in its natural state. We offer many different poses, points of view, and angles, so that you can accurately assess Shaiela's conformation and spirit. Her foal is due late April/early May 2008 and will be available for sale in the fall.

She has the classic pricked, small ears and grey-shaded muzzle and eyes of the classic Arabian horse. Her color is flea-bitten grey. Her eyes are lovely, liquid black. She loves to be scratched anywhere on her head.

She's absolutely beautiful in motion, whether at a canter, as here, or her extended trot or fluid walk. Her foal will be ready for any discipline. Like most Arabians, she has a flowing main and tail. Watch a video of Shaiela's canter.mpg 30 seconds.

Shaiela is well trained and has been a trail horse all her life. She has grown up in natural pasture surroundings, on the Walla Walla River in Northeast Oregon. Her foal will also live here until sold, guaranteeing a solid beginning of health, sunshine, 24/7 turnout, absolutely pure water, and imprinting at birth. The foal will be handled almost daily.

Shaiela has a lovely, feminine body and head, flat croup, very straight legs, and concave face that is not extreme or "pencil-nosed." Her feet are wonderful--hard, perfect, and broad. Though very spirited, she responds well to firm and consistent expectations and lots of attention.
